BIOGRAPHIES

There have only been three biographies written about Eric Hoffer, and none in the last twenty years. Of the three, only the study by James Baker represents a sustained examination and interpretation of the main themes of Hoffer's thought. The other two focus more on the details of Hoffer's life, details which happen to be quite fascinating and entertaining. Also included in those two are a variety of lively photographs of Hoffer in his later age. Hoffer's final book, the autobiography Truth Imagined, was published posthumously.
