CV Mistakes to Avoid Imperatively

Resume and cover letter are the most important components of a job application file. Despite the rise of social networks, they remain essential elements for recruitment! Too Long CV

Most candidates often think that the resume is only a list of the diplomas obtained and the positions occupied during their careers. Well, it is completely wrong! It is essential to prioritize the content and value the experiences according to the recruiter’s requirements. It is a bad idea to think that a very long CV will impress employers. On the contrary, it will be boring to read and above all, it will give them the impression that you are not able to give priority to the most relevant information to the position sought! Poorly Presented CV

Avoid to put the wrong title! There is no need to write at the top of the document “CV” or “Curriculum Vitae” for the recruiter knows how to recognize it! Prefer the job title. Sometimes, it happens that job applications failed because of a bad taste with the CV layout.  Even if for certain positions, creativity is important, it is still better to favor the choice of a simple font and two main colors! Opt for bold and italic to highlight certain points.

Recruiters are looking for achievements, results, one or more concrete stories that prove the candidate’s professionalism. Here are some examples that can inspire you while building your resume: Management of a budget of 300,000 dollars; Turnover generated of a million dollars, Organization of events involving more than 10,000 people, etc. Numbers always catch the recruiter’s eye better than letters. In other words, they increase the chance of your CV to be read by the headhunter.
